ASCEND: THE BEAUTY OF BECOMING

Presented at the StandardX, Melbourne, in partnership with the Australian Chinese Jockey Club, ASCEND explores transformation and growth through the process of an idea becoming fully realised. Each silhouette carries something of where it began, shaped and refined over time into something purposeful, powerful and alive.

Throughout the collection, the unexpected becomes a point of expression. Fluid silhouettes sit alongside precise tailoring, sculptural forms meet softer draping, and movements of restraint are interrupted by bold proportions, texture and colour. Rather than following a single visual language, ASCEND moves between constraints allowing each look to take on an identity of its own while remaining distinctly VICETA WANG.

Colour is central to that identity.

From vivid reds and saturated pinks to orange, lavender, green and softer neutral tones, the collection embraces colour with confidence. Unexpected combinations bring another dimension to the collection while moments of black and white allow silhouette, texture and construction to take focus. Bold colour has long been part of the VICETA WANG DNA, used as a language of confidence, individuality and self expression.

Surfaces and delicate details. Ruffles and draping introduce movement, while asymmetric lines, cut-out and exaggerated proportions disrupt more familiar silhouettes. The result is a collection that moves between softness and structure without asking one to outweigh the other.

ASCEND also marks a significant new chapter for VICETA WANG, with our first presentation of VICETA WANG HOMME.

Tailoring becomes the foundation for this new expression of the brand. Classic suiting moves between understated neutrals and more unexpected combinations of colour, with contrasting panels, lapels and relaxed styling bringing a distinctly VICETA WANG perspective to menswear. While new territory for our label, the pieces remain connected to the confidence, colour and individuality that have long shaped the VICETA WANG identity. 

It’s introduction to runway feels fitting within a collection centred around transformation and growth. ASCEND is not about leaving behind what came before, but allowing it to evolve. Familiar signatures take on new forms, established ideas are pushed further, and the VICETA WANG world expands white remaining connect to its foundations. 

The presentation at The StandardX also continued VICETA WANG’s longstanding relationship with the Australian Chinese Jockey Club. Since first working together in 2022, the partnership has grown across fashion presentations, charity initiatives and community events, reflecting a shared commitment to creating experiences that extend beyond the runway.

As VICETA WANG celebrates its ninth year, ASCEND arrives at a fitting point in the brand’s story. Across more than 20 fashion shows in Melbourne, London, Paris, Shanghai and Singapore, VICETA WANG has continued to evolve while holding onto the ideas at its core. Together with its community, VICETA WANG has also raised more than $300,000 AUD for children’s charities.
