The Power of Serenity: Balancing Past and Present

On the 1st of October, 2025, in the luxury fashion capital of the world, Australian brand VICETA WANG made its highly anticipated debut at Paris Fashion Week. Held at the prestigious Hôtel Le Marois in the heart of Paris glamorous guests were invited to the collection launch of "SILENT POETRY", the brand's ode to tranquility in every essence. The show marked not only a milestone for designer Viceta Wang and her team, but also a lyrical expression of Eastern culture — a testament to the “power of serenity.”

Sunset tones introduced the collection promising a vibrant energy. Hues of mauve and lavender followed, with a cluster of cool shimmering blues snatching the audience's attention. Printed dresses were the highlight of the runway showcasing an exclusive in-house print, Album of flowers, closely followed by striking yellow structural pieces and a creamy lime ensemble to finish.

Delicate embellishments graced this season's poetic collection, where silk feathers in shades of orange and blue drifted down the runway—an innovative, modern take on the traditional Chanhua technique. Floral motifs bloomed throughout, crafted from fabric, beads, and sequins, reinforcing the brand's signature emblem.

The Spring Summer 2026 collection draws inspiration from traditional Chinese art and craft. The name of the collection itself is a direct nod to art often being described as "SILENT POETRY". The collection explores the visual worlds of painters Zhao Zhiqian and Cai Jia, while also incorporating ronghua — a form of silk-flower making that originated during the Qin dynasty over 2,000 years ago. Once reserved for imperial courts, it is now recognized as part of China’s intangible cultural heritage.

“They are not flowers that bloom loudly, but ones that open quietly, with robust stems, and a clear, refined colour.” Wang explains.

The collection embodies a connection between past and present, reflecting the belief that tradition is not static but continually evolving. It celebrates elegance as a quiet strength.

For Wang, fashion is not only about external confidence, but about an inner state of calm strength. “I want people to feel serene, yet also empowered. True beauty is born from patience, precision, and care. It is like spring arriving without noise yet impossible to ignore.”

This understated serenity is what she seeks to weave into every garment — a cultural texture that embodies resilience through refinement.

Among all the designs, Wang’s favourite is a purple gown adorned with handmade flowers inspired by traditional techniques. The piece took three months of repeated pattern-making and refinement, with each flower requiring hours of meticulous handwork. On the runway, the silk caught the light in a way that felt almost alive. “It is not only visually striking, but layered with time, craft, and meaning,” she says.

“Paris is the heart of fashion, and to present here feels like stepping into a dream,” Wang reflects. She feels both proud and deeply grateful — not only for herself, but for her entire team whose efforts brought this moment to life. She hopes to present elements of intangible Chinese heritage through a Western lens, so that the world can experience the richness of this ancient traditional culture. “For many designers, Paris represents prestige. For me, this experience is more like writing a letter to the world — sharing my culture, craft, and insights that transcend borders.”

“Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks.” Plutarch
